For this project I started to do a lot of research into the following headings, Modernism, Digital, Conceptualism, Abstract, and Minimalism. I researched into different designers for each heading and looked into how their designs and work could relate to Architecture. The two headings I leaned more towards interest in was Modernism and Minimalism. I found them to be similar and found that once combining images of different designers together you can see where their research had linked in together. I found designers like Mies van der Rohe to be of interest to me. His work was very modern involving a lot of glass. I also found Donald Judd and Shiro Kuramatas work of inspiration to my designs. At this moment I am really enjoying this project as it involves a lot of research into depth and whilst doing this I am learning about new designers and gaining more ideas. I feel that the more research I accomplish, the better the design and outcome of my model.

Figure 1: Authors own (2014) Following the designers I researched into I did some designs of a bookshelf in a room built onto the wall. I decided to create a small model to indicate my ideas further. |

Figure 2: Authors own (2014) Following the image above this is a photo showing the bookshelf inside the room. |

Figure 2: Authors own (2014) I then decided what it would be like to have a built in bookshelf into the wall of a room. This way it takes up less space of the house and creates a modern design. |

Figure 3: Authors own (2014) Researching into Donald Judd's work I was inspired by his shapes so decided to use diamonds as a part of making a sofa bench inside a house. This was made to be a simple design following minimalism. |
