Floating coffee shop

For our final project we was all given our own individual design. I was given a floating coffee shop. At first I thought this would be a difficult project to take on but once starting to do my research I found that there were so many existing buildings on water. I then found my project to become really interesting and was really enjoying researching into all these different things that had already existed all around the world. This then became my favourite project because its something unusual to design and had to have a lot of thought about location and various other things. After doing enormous amounts of research I began to sketch out some ideas of how I wanted my floating coffee shop to look.

I began drawing out a layout of the front design with how I wanted the entrance to look along with the windows of the downstairs and upstairs.

I then drew from perspective a different type of coffee shop design and how the exterior of the building would appear.

I decided to then sketch out a more boat looking coffee shop that would fit in on the water. This design has a deck which will hold seating for customers and is a one floor simple coffee shop.

My final design was more technical with scale. I decided I wanted my coffee shop to have an open roof upstairs and a downstairs with a massive glass window to show the beautiful sight to where it would be located. It also has two sections of different rooms downstairs for your seating choice.

For my final design I put together two of my ideas as I wanted to test out my ideas and what it would appear like as a model.  Overall i really enjoyed working on this project and if i was to add anymore to it i would sketch out some more model ideas and show the interior side more.

Project 5

For this project we was given a client who had selected various words on a form. Once given this form of my clients selected words I was told to research into 5 of these words. The words I chose was Contemporary, Sweets, Metal, Cats, and Summer. Researching into the terms of these words I showed my client a selection of images I had gathered together. We then discussed what would be appropriate for my clients design. My client had given me a selection of ideas as to what he wanted to be designed. I sketched his designs up into a floor plan. I then continued to research into different terms and adjusted my clients ideas. I had discussed these ideas with my client before beginning to design a model. I found this project to be one of experience and learning how I would work in the professional world. We was given a client and had to try and fulfil the clients needs with our designs and research.
My final design was to design a modern 3 bedroom house with open plan space, containing glass windows.
