Reflective Summary

Over the past 6 weeks I have been able to experiment with different techniques and ideas through each pathway. I have gained knowledge through each pathway and enjoyed learning something different each week. From lens based media I learnt that you can take a photograph and indicate a meaning of a word. In addition to this you can create story boards showing a short clip of a story involving a beginning a middle and an end and a struggle through out and how it is resolved. In fashion and textiles I learnt that you can start from a small sample and develop to create an item of clothing. It was interesting and exciting to see how we had developed at the end and how our samples remain through out the week. In the IT studio days I learnt how to work on my photoshop techniques and learnt about inDesign and illustration. I found this day to be helpful as I was able to adapt new skills on the computer which I will use further when commencing my chosen pathway. In 3D design I learnt that you can create and invent a new idea or object through any method and it could be as simple as drawing random shapes onto a page and turning that into a building or shoe. I liked this technique of exploring ideas as it's quick and unique to myself. In graphics Iearnt about typography and how you can create different styles of writing and new formats of presenting them. I also enjoyed collaging different features of a face onto one and then recording a section of this into my sketchbook. I enjoyed doing this because I had created a new face which doesn't exist and could  mix up genders and sizes of features together which I found to be different and unique. Overall, I have thoroughly enjoyed experimenting in each pathway and have gained knowledge from each one.
